Painting Archives - CASCADE

The Global Cascade of Our Farms (2007)- The pursuit of sustenance has become at once central and simultaneously arbitrary in our everyday lives. It has become an industry, an art, a hassle or comfort at the end of a long day, and yet so often consideration as to how our food is grown or made or the consequences its' production creates are forgotten.  The growth and production of conventionally grown food sources inflict a global cascade of ramifications and assaults on the environment.  Factory and industrial farming have become hubs of big business, cruelty, pollution and disregard.  I am at once charged and enticed by the constructed conundrum between our consumption, obsession, entitlement and oblivion to food and the food industry and the global repercussions manifested through them.
